Porthgain
Porthgain has its history firmly embedded in the quarrying industry. Pembrokeshire is scattered with small quarries but Porthgain is unusual in that it became famous for its granite and bricks as well as slate. The remains of the quarry buildings and brick works can still be seen in the village and along the coastal path. The Sloop Inn dates from 1743 and is popular with locals and tourists.
